PAS to consider bloggers’ views for polls candidate

The views of bloggers will be considered when PAS selects its candidate for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election.

Party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said all views and feedback through cyberspace, including criticisms and poison-pen letters, would be considered.

He said voters’ sentiment would also be considered before the party picked its candidate.

“We will wait for in-depth reports from the branch and division leaders,” he said at the State Assembly foyer.

Abdul Hadi said the central PAS leaders would meet to discuss the by-election on Sunday but the final decision on the candidate would made by the Majlis Syura (supreme council).

On the recommendation by Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat that vice-president Muhammad Sabu be fielded, Abdul Hadi said “every state has its own views on who to field.”

“We hear everyone but any decision would be based on the majority, as president I have no objection if Muhammad Sabu is nominated,” the Terengganu PAS chief said.

Abdul Hadi is said to be considering party strategist Datuk Mustafa Ali and Batu Burok assemblyman Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi.
