Barisan making inroads into PAS strongholds - MB
Barisan Nasional has its own formula to penetrate PAS strongholds and double its margin of victory in the coming Kuala Terengganu by-election, says Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said.
He said the coalition had successfully infiltrated PAS strongholds in the constituency and it had borne results.
Ahmad, however, declined to divulge the formula. He said constituencies such as Wakaf Mempelam, Ladang and Batu Buruk, which were under PAS, have been penetrated and were being given additional attention,
“We are also not ignoring the only Barisan-held state seat, Bandar, which is under the MCA,” he said after attending Hari Raya Haji celebrations in Losong, near here, on Saturday.
“We are confident that we will increase the majority, based on the support so far,” he said.
In the March 8 general election, Datuk Razali Ismail defeated PAS’ Muhammad Sabu by a razor thin 628-vote majority.
Razali died on Nov 28 when he collapsed while playing badminton.
